HL080 Auxiliary cavalry helmet, B type

Description

A fine example of the middle/late 1st cent cavalry helmet. Classified as Auxiliary B, the original one was found in Witcham, in UK. It differs from the Weiler types, with big round brass brackets, and no hair shape on the hat. The alliance of the tinned iron and the brass gives an unique impression. It comes with a yellow horsehair crest - yellow being the cavalry color, as Arrian suggests.

Tinned iron with brass decorative brackets. Side to side 18cm, front to back 22cm.

× All the helmets - unless otherwise specified - come without internal padding.
