HL087 Roman Cavalry Xanten Helmet

Description

Made after an awesome piece found in Xanten, in Germany (Castra Vetera). This helmet belonged to a cavalry officer. The hair figured on the hat classes it as a Weiler type. The cheakguard also show hairs. The wearer was a decorated one, as the laurel crown embossed on the helmet shows. The locket in the middle figures a julio-claudian prince, most probaly the emperor Claudius.

Tinned brass. 23cm long and 19/19,5cm wide. Inner leather cap.

× All the helmets - unless otherwise specified - come without internal padding.
