HL165 Balkan helmet, iron

Description

This iron helmet comes from a founding in the Balkans, therefore its name. It may be dated from the late 3d cent to the 4th one. Its neckguard and cheekguards are articulated, but there is no leather lining trace, as the later roman helmets will all be equipped with.

As two identical helmets were found, we can suppose this was a serial produced helmet, most probably for infantry, as there is neither placated elements, nor decorations.

Weigth 2,1kg, inner dimensions 19cmx21cm. Without inner liner. This one is in plain iron.

× All the helmets - unless otherwise specified - come without internal padding.
