HL233 Coppergate helmet

Description

Found in 1982 during excavations in the old walled city of York, this Anglo Saxon helmet is of great archeological importance, for it clearly shows the skill of the craftsmen of this pre-medieval era. The inscription on the crest is an invocation from the helmet's owner Oshere to the holy Trinity.

Made of 2mm thick still with brass brackets and parts. Comes with its chainmail cap.
