HL240 Houndskull bascinet, Churburg castle

Description

This bascinet is dated from the second half of the 14th cent, and is known as Churburg Bascinet No. 13. It is made after the one to be seen in the Churburg castle.

The helmet has a flap-up visor with removable pin fixation for taking it apart. The edge of the helmet bowl is decorated with vervelles if someone want to add achainmail vantail.
