SP174 - Spiculum

Description

During the late roman period, the pilum as been replaced by new throwing weapons, probably influenced by germanic weapons. The name "Spiculum" seems to design one of them, with an iron shaft shorter than the pilum, and with a wide barbed head.

Soft iron. Length 31cm, needed shaft diameter 4cm. A 60cm long version also exists, more an angon than a roman weapon, do ask us if you want to know more.

× All these weapons have steel or bronze blades, but are not intended for fencing, unless otherwise specified.
