SW169 Peplum type roman gladius

Description

This gladius is made after the Pompei Type. If the gladius is possible for reenactment, the scabbard brass brackets are not historically attested.

The gladius is 79cm long (blade being 61 cm long). Blade is made of high carbon steel, is 5cm wide, and the edge is slightly sharp. The scabbard is made of leather covered wood, with brass brackets. Guard and pommel are made of wood, reinforced by brass pieces. Grips is made of resin. Total weight of the gladius is 980g, making it a very swift weapon.

× All these weapons have steel or bronze blades, but are not intended for fencing, unless otherwise specified.
