SW239 Hersir Viking sword

Description

The blade's shape, with two parallel cutting edges, and the short guard indicate a Viking weapon. The pommel is made of two pieces, riveted together and rounded by a wire. This is a typical 8th-9th cent sword.

Length 97cm (blade 78cm). Weight 1,5kg. Width of the blade at hilt's level : 6cm. Scabbard made of leather covered wood, with a wooden suspension piece. Grip rounded by a thick leather lace.
