SW445 Officer sword, 18th cent

Description

Most officers used from the 18th on not to wear their usual swords when going to receptions or dinners, but lighter ones, although also usable. These swords were called court sword, and society swords after the revolution.

This officer sword has a cast brass hilt (painted at grip's level). This is also a sword intended for disguise, with a soft iron blade.

Length 91cm, weight 0.8kg.

× These swords and sabers are high quality copies. Blades are made of forged and tempered steel. They might not be used for fencing, though.
