SW590 Royal household musketeer saber, 2d company

Description

The Royal household musketeers received, probably in 1662 a new saber, on Choiseul minister's order. IT was made after the Gendarmes weapon, and replaced the old Epee forte à la mousquetaire.

The two companies will get the same saber, in different colors. The first company has a gilded saber, and the second one a silvered one.

The length of the saber is 112 cm (blade 92cm), its weight is 1,470kg.

× These swords and sabers are high quality copies. Blades are made of forged and tempered steel. They might not be used for fencing, though. It is reminded that the sale of bladed weapons to minors is prohibited, and that even though our reproductions are primarily intended for decoration or historical reenactment, their acquisition is reserved exclusively to adults.
